Position Summary:

The Museum of Natural Curiosity Ropes Course Assistant Manager is responsible to manage the day-to-day operations of the Ropes Course in coordination with the Venue Manager. Responsibilities include; Hiring, scheduling, training, inspecting, and the overall safe operation of the Ropes Course.  In addition, the Assistant Manager will be responsible for adherence to budget guidelines, to increase revenues and profits, to ensure remarkable guest service, and to provide a clean and safe environment. 


The Museum of Natural Curiosity is an interactive family museum located at Thanksgiving Point, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Lehi, Utah.  The museum features hundreds of free-choice, high-activity exhibits designed to encourage curiosity, exploration, and playful learning in five gallery spaces: Rainforest, WaterWorks, Kidopolis, Discovery Garden, and Traveling Exhibits.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible to oversee the day to day operations of the Ropes Course to ensure safe, remarkable guest services, clean and orderly environment, and promotion of other services, venues, and products at Thanksgiving Point.
  • Responsible to constantly improve team member's ability to "GET" our guests.
  • Responsible for daily inspections and reports necessary to maintain the Ropes Course safe operation and stay in compliance with all contractual aspects of the Course to maintain the Ropes Course Certification.
  • Responsible to hire and train qualified individuals to safely operate the Ropes Course on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for overall cleanliness and maintenance of the Ropes Course and any areas associated with it


Required Education, Skills, Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be over 21 years of age
  • Must successfully complete the Ropes Course operator training
  • Must Successfully complete the Ropes Course Trainer training
  • 1-2 Years Experience in a management position, managing, training, and motivating staff
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have excellent record keeping skills
  • Must have completed (will complete) "Guest Experience Training" and "Managing Guest Experience Training" and demonstrated excellent guest service skills and abilities.
  • Demonstrated independent decision making skills as well as ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Must have excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to work rotating hours and days and evenings during the week including Saturdays and holidays
  • Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time
