Purpose: 

Works with clients coordinating all aspects of wedding events from all angles ensuring success to every event for our clients and their guests.

Scope of: 

The Wedding Sales and Events Manager acts as liaison between client and other entities (kitchen staff, banquet service staff, Thanksgiving Point Floral, outside vendors and other Thanksgiving Point venues). The Wedding Sales and Events Manager 's primary responsibility is weddings, but may also include other banquets, public events, tournaments, Christmas parties, and other private events.

Essential Functions:

o Responsible for booking and selling wedding events 

o Must work with wedding clients to clearly establish goals and expectations

o Coordinate services for events, such as facilities, catering (food), signage, floral and displays, audio-visual equipment, and security.

o Maintain financial records and prepare reports

o Meet wedding clients prior to the start of every event to ensure event success

o Schedule wedding events in an organized manner.

o Follow up calls to ensure timely confirmation of event and payment of deposit.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

Education

High School Diploma

Experience 

o 1-3 years prior wedding event managing/coordination experience.

o At least 1 year prior experience at resort/hotel/reception center or similar property as event manager/coordinator.

Skills 

o Prior experience with Delphi, Breeze or similar program for booking functions and BEO's

o Able to multi-task and work under pressure in order to meet deadlines and satisfy clients

o Have strong decision-making and problem-solving skills

o Possess the ability to work well with many different people

o Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

o Have strong public relations abilities

o Possess creativity

o Must possess basic computer skills

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: Education

Education

o Bachelor degree or degree in Hotel/Hospitality program 

Experience

o Prior Wedding Catering and/or Event Manager experience

o Prior hospitality experience (restaurant, catering).

o Prior experience in floral and design

Skills

o Experience with Delphi (Breeze) software programs.

o Experienced with word processing and Excel spreadsheets.
