Thanksgiving Point, one of the coolest places around, is seeking an organized, creative-minded Grant Manager. Thanksgiving Point is a 501(c)3 multi-museum, farm, and garden complex that draws upon the natural world to cultivate transformative family learning. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about this mission and especially the opportunity to work alongside a highly collaborative team of ridiculously awesome and creative folk.

 

Position Summary

The Grant Manager is a part of the Fundraising team and works alongside the Director of Corporate Relations, Director of Membership, VP of Design and Programming, and the CEO to achieve annual fundraising goals. This person is also a member of the Design & Programming team, where collaboration on grant-related projects is continually happening for highly effective results.

 

The Grant Manager is responsible for the entire grant process at Thanksgiving Point, from research and writing, to submission, donor cultivation, post-award management, and federal grant reimbursements. Annually, this person creates an informed budget that is reflective of known incoming grant revenue sources and predicted grant revenue.

 

Position Responsibilities

Responsible for researching, writing, submitting, and post-award management of all grants related to Thanksgiving Point, including Foundation, Government, Corporate, and Private grants.

 

Responsible for oversight, reporting, and management of all government and foundation level grants currently in award stage including completing federal reimbursement processes.

 

Responsible for actively seeking new grant funding sources and cultivating relationships with both new and current grantors.

 

Responsible for the oversight and close management of the grant revenue portion of a 7-figure Fundraising Department Budget.

 

Responsible for effective communication and meaningful collaboration with all Thanksgiving Point departments as a member of the Joint Management Team, to drive forward the mission, address challenges, and enact the strategic plan.

 

Responsible for participation on the Fundraising team, working collaboratively with other members to meet annual goals including participating in donor cultivation events such as the annual gala and golf tournament, Legislative Family Night, Utah Symphony, and any other donor relation events.

 

Responsible for other duties as assigned by the VP of Design and Programming.

 

 

Position Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Professional writing or fundraising certification a plus.

 

At least 3 years of experience in the nonprofit fundraising sector, with directly applicable experience writing and managing grants for a large nonprofit organization.

 

Demonstrated experience cultivating and managing donor relationships.

 

Demonstrated success obtaining grant funds.

  

Experience managing and administering government and foundation grants.

 

Working knowledge with the OMB Uniform Guidance.

 

Intimate working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications and ability to translate data into meaningful reports, sets, and summaries.

 

Position Details

This is a full time benefited position with hours of work generally from 8:00 5:00 Monday through Friday. This person will work on some weekends, evenings, and holidays in order to support fundraising efforts and to participate in and support programming and fellow team members.

 

Valid Driver's license is required (Utah License will be necessary to be covered by insurance).

 

Must pass a background check as there is a lot of interaction with our young guests.
